Armed with nothing but a passion for wellness, I set out in the spa industry almost two decades ago. More than making my mark on the world, I wanted to make a real difference in the way people felt — to impact their health and well being. The industry has evolved a tremendous amount since those early days... shifting from a singularly-focused fitness emphasis into a balanced wellness approach incorporating elements that enrich, enhance and bring additional joy to lives. In light of that, the intrigue of creating the finest quality health and beauty products as another means to make a difference took possession of me. As a result, HSNV was born. But not overnight.
Along the way, I've had the good fortune of working in environments that spawned some of the industry's greatest advances — and have witnessed how the discerning clients at luxury spas have helped push the proverbial envelope. In my own spa, Health Spa Napa Valley, my lifelong dream for the definitive fusion of luxury and quality was realized. With one small glitch. Many of the personal care products I demo-ed for my clients' use simply did not share the spa's exacting standards. I wanted a superior alternative to make the experience unique... to make it complete.
That's when I went to work on HSNV. I listened to my clients, whose world-class expectations helped define the real needs. I collaborated with my wife, whose refined taste and boundless quest for perfection kept me aspiring to the best. I looked to the beautiful Napa Valley surroundings for premier natural ingredients. I edited the formulations until they delivered a performance unlike any of their predecessors. I went back and tweaked the fragrances until they sang of being special. I was uncompromising in my search for sleek, distinctive packaging I would be proud to display in my home. Only when I thought the line was all it should be did I make the collections available to our customers.
The results surprised even me. Product flew out the door faster than I ever imagined. Word spread quickly — triggering a response that was nothing short of overwhelming. And, when we relinquished the "professional" products for our own in several spa therapies, the treatments met with incredibly enthusiastic reviews. We knew then, our national launch was not far behind. Today, HSNV includes some of the world's most exquisite personal care products in four collections: body care, hair care, spa and gift & travel. Every one is a product of Cathy's and my unwavering pursuit of the finest…every one excels in enhancing ritual care.
Like many people, wellness has taken on a much larger dimension in my life. From sharing time with my family to savoring life's little moments, I believe every experience can be joyous. Which is exactly what HSNV is all about. By offering everybody a bit of luxury they can enjoy every day, I hope to provide what I set out to almost 20 years ago: a way to bring lasting health and beauty into peoples lives — a way to make a real difference.
